Tattoos of 3250 BC-The oldest Tattoos

As we know there was no tattoo machine in ancient days, but when asked whether the ancients were tattooed, from the buried Egyptian mummies to the cavalry tombs of the Siberian plains, to the Paleolithic tattoos found in the prehistoric caves of Spain, the tattoos proved to be a feature of prehistoric culture. I really doubt how to use ancient Egyptian tattooing tattoo supply. Perhaps some of the hard and sharp objects.

We learn from modern indigenous peoples that tattoos are not just decorations, but the meaning of protection, as a lucky amulet, proof of shame or glory, a symbol of faith, proof of maturity or imprint of marriage and battle. They serve the sensibility, lust, and emotional aspects of the mind and are seen as a source of strength.

The debate about the world's oldest tattoos ended, they belonged to Ötz. The European Tyrol Iceman died in 3250 BC and was buried under the Alpine glaciers of Austria and the Italian border. Ötz had 61 tattoos on his left wrist, calf, lower back, and torso, so the oldest tattoos are known to man.
For a long time, scientists have been arguing whether the oldest tattoo belongs to the Iceman Ötzi, who died around 3250 BC. Before the discovery of Ötzi, the beard-shaped tattoo on the face of South American Chinchino Mummy was considered to be the oldest tattoo in the world. A new examination of the Ötzi specimens shows that Ötzi is about 500 years older than the Chinchino mummies and it is the oldest European tattoo specimen that was saved.

The 61 tattoos on Ötz are divided into 19 groups, mainly composed of lines or crosses. They are made by making a fresh incision on the skin and then rubbing charcoal into the skin, so they are considered to be treatments instead of decorations.

It is now difficult to determine when tattoos appear in human culture, because there are few written records, and scientists must look at archaeological records. But even so, it is hard to rely on, because it is often difficult to know exactly what the tattoo might do, and whether ancient instruments were used for tattoos or for other purposes.

Hundreds of ancient tattoo specimens have been found, although Ötzi is now known to be the oldest, there are many ancient examples throughout the world, including modern Russia, Egypt, and China.
The tattoo effects of Ötzi probably won't be like other ancient tattoos, because we found more tattoos about our ancestors. Their tattoos showed that tattoo techniques were already developing and ubiquitous, which means there were older tattoos.

"In addition to our historical significance, we should not forget the role that tattoos have played in culture for thousands of years." Decorative tattoos, like Chinchorro mummies and treatment tattoos, have been around for a long time like Iceman. This shows us that the desire to decorate and treat with tattoos is a very old part of our human past culture.
